Marisa T. Déry | Opinion
Opinion of Marisa T. Déry • Tamar Forensics:
The recording does not fit the recommended guideline for recording in a non-lab environment.
2. In addition, the police officer neglected to state the end of call time- which makes it
difficult to measure the timeline. The recording does not have a clear 60 Hz DC ground hum line,
which makes it difficult to determine if there was a splice in the recording. The Olympic 852
recorder generates a set formula when naming a file; the usual protocol is to save the original
recording, then to clone said recording and rename it according to agency guidelines (e.g. the case
name). I recommend that we ask to analyse the original recording as it is difficult to determine its
authenticity.
